Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before enrolling at NED College. These terms govern your relationship with the college.

1 Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Student" or "you") and NED College ("College", "we", "us", or "our"). By enrolling in any course or program offered by NED College, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

NED College is a registered English language school in Ireland, accredited by EAQUALS, ASIC, and listed on ILEP (Interim List of Eligible Programmes) by the Irish Department of Justice.

Important: If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not enroll in our courses. Please contact us if you have any questions before proceeding with enrollment.

2 Enrollment & Registration

2.1 Application Process

To enroll at NED College, you must complete and submit an application form along with all required documentation, including:

  • Valid passport copy
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
  • Academic transcripts or certificates
  • Completed application form

2.2 Acceptance

The College reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its discretion. Upon acceptance, you will receive a Letter of Offer outlining your course details, fees, and start date.

2.3 Age Requirements

Students must be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrollment. For students under 18, special arrangements and guardian consent are required.

2.4 Visa Requirements

International students are responsible for obtaining and maintaining valid visa status for the duration of their studies in Ireland. The College will provide necessary documentation to support visa applications but cannot guarantee visa approval.

3 Payment Terms

3.1 Tuition Fees

All tuition fees are quoted in Euros (€) and are subject to change. Current fees are published on our website and in the Letter of Offer. Fees must be paid in full before the course commencement date unless a payment plan has been agreed upon.

3.2 Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of €500 is required to secure your place. This deposit will be deducted from your total tuition fee.

3.3 Payment Methods

We accept payment via:

  • Bank transfer
  • Credit/Debit card
  • Online payment portal

3.4 Late Payments

Students who fail to pay fees by the due date may be suspended from classes until payment is received. The College reserves the right to charge interest on overdue payments.

4 Refund Policy

4.1 Cooling-Off Period

Students have a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of enrollment. If you withdraw within this period and before the course starts, you will receive a full refund minus the €500 deposit.

4.2 Withdrawal Before Course Start

If you withdraw more than 14 days before the course start date, you will receive a refund of all fees paid minus the €500 deposit and a €200 administration fee.

4.3 Withdrawal After Course Commencement

No refunds will be given for withdrawals after the course has commenced, except in cases of serious illness or exceptional circumstances, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

4.4 Visa Refusal

If your visa application is refused, you will receive a full refund of tuition fees minus the €500 deposit and €200 administration fee. You must provide official documentation of the visa refusal.

Note: All refund requests must be submitted in writing to admissions@ned.ie. Refunds will be processed within 30 working days of approval.

5 Student Responsibilities

As a student of NED College, you agree to:

  • Attend all scheduled classes and maintain a minimum 85% attendance rate
  • Complete all coursework and assessments to the best of your ability
  • Behave respectfully towards staff, fellow students, and college property
  • Comply with Irish immigration laws and visa conditions
  • Inform the College immediately of any changes to personal details or circumstances
  • Pay all fees by the due dates
  • Follow the College's code of conduct and policies
  • Maintain valid health insurance for the duration of your studies

6 College Responsibilities

NED College commits to:

  • Provide high-quality English language education delivered by qualified teachers
  • Maintain accreditation standards and quality assurance procedures
  • Offer appropriate student support services including academic guidance
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Issue accurate attendance records and progress reports
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Protect student data in accordance with GDPR regulations
  • Provide necessary documentation for visa applications and renewals

7 Attendance & Academic Progress

7.1 Attendance Requirements

Students must maintain a minimum of 85% attendance. Failure to meet this requirement may result in suspension or termination of enrollment and notification to immigration authorities for visa holders.

7.2 Absences

All absences must be reported to the College. Medical certificates are required for absences exceeding 3 consecutive days.

7.3 Academic Progress

Students are expected to make satisfactory academic progress. Regular assessments will be conducted, and students not meeting expected standards will receive additional support and guidance.

7.4 Progress Reports

Students will receive progress reports at the end of each term, detailing attendance, participation, and academic achievement.

8 Cancellation & Withdrawal

8.1 College Cancellation

The College reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, students will receive a full refund of all fees paid or be offered an alternative course.

8.2 Student Withdrawal

Students wishing to withdraw must submit a written notice to the College. The refund policy outlined in Section 4 will apply.

8.3 Termination by College

The College reserves the right to terminate a student's enrollment for serious misconduct, breach of these Terms, or failure to meet attendance or payment obligations. No refund will be given in such cases.

9 Privacy & Data Protection

NED College is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

9.1 Data Collection

We collect personal information necessary for enrollment, course delivery, and compliance with legal requirements. This includes contact details, academic records, attendance data, and payment information.

9.2 Data Use

Your data will be used for:

  • Course administration and delivery
  • Communication regarding your studies
  • Compliance with immigration and regulatory requirements
  • Quality assurance and improvement
  • Marketing communications (with your consent)

9.3 Data Sharing

We may share your data with immigration authorities, accreditation bodies, and other organizations as required by law or necessary for course delivery.

9.4 Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@ned.ie for any data-related queries.

10 Liability & Insurance

10.1 College Liability

The College maintains appropriate insurance and will take reasonable care for student safety. However, the College is not liable for loss, damage, or injury to students except where caused by our negligence.

10.2 Student Insurance

All students must maintain valid health insurance for the duration of their studies. International students must have comprehensive health insurance that meets Irish visa requirements.

10.3 Personal Property

The College is not responsible for loss or damage to students' personal belongings. Students should ensure their personal property is insured.

10.4 Learner Protection

NED College is a member of the Academy Enrolled Learner Protection scheme, ensuring protection of student fees in the unlikely event of college closure.

11 Changes to Terms

The College reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be published on our website and communicated to enrolled students. Continued enrollment after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Students who do not agree with modified Terms may withdraw from the College subject to the withdrawal and refund policies in effect at the time.

Version Control: These Terms and Conditions are version 2.0, effective from January 1, 2025. Previous versions are available upon request.
